Week 8 of Reading Through the Bible in 90 Days
This week we are reading through Song of Solomon, Isaiah, and Jeremiah. As we head into the prophets, I always pause. This is some difficult reading. It's hard for me for many reasons. Some of it is really dry reading. There is quite a bit of figurative language that makes it difficult to understand. And, the things that are prophesied (and that the Israelites eventually go through) are hard to fathom. Reading through the Bible so quickly does help me to understand this period in Israel's history more. When I've just recently read that God promised His people these very things would happen if they turned against Him, it's easier to see in the prophets- generations later- that they did turn against God and break their covenant with Him.
Leave a comment to let me know you are still reading along. And please let me know if I can pray for you. I would appreciate your prayers this week. We have quite a few missionaries at our church this week for Missions Festival/Global Impact Week. I'm helping with childcare, and my husband (who works at our church) is always very busy this week. Please pray for our visiting missionaries and for our family as we minister.
